Our Journey
The palomino colour has always been a favourite of ours, but the European Warmblood pedigrees and successful Australian performance lines have held our interest – hence, we combined the two and decided to breed Palomino Warmbloods. Over the past years the emphasis has been on the acquisition of suitable mares, we decided to focus on quality rather than quantity, and over time have built up a band of mares with impressive pedigrees, confirmation and movement. Our aim is to have a “boutique” sized operation, allowing us to focus on excellent husbandry and handling of foals. In 2003 we purchased Jaybee Amber, a palomino mare sired by Chico D'Oro. We bred Jaybee Amber to a German Hanoverian stallion, Espri, resulting in a magnificent palomino colt, JC Solomon. (For further information about Espri click here) Unfortunately, as a foal, JC Solomon damaged a large ligament near his wither. Despite the injury, Chris Davie, of Kenlock Park and David Quick of Isle of Wight Farm, were impressed with JC Solomon's pedigree, movement, temperament, colour and confirmation and a decision was made to stand JC Solomon over a few select mares at Kenlock Park. The rest is history. JC Solomon returned back to JC Farm and has continued to sire numerous foals – each foal has inherited his gorgeous front, supple movement and amazing kind temperament. Australia is breeding some amazing warmbloods that are being purpose-bred for performance. We aim to contribute to this development, but with the added bonus of palomino colour! |
